Winter Chanterelles reaching their full size 😋

Picked a good few of these mushrooms yesterday with my 4 year old son who loves foraging. Picked some wood sorrel (which my son eats more than he puts in the basket) and a handful of sweet chestnuts 🌰 that the squirrels had missed too. These mushrooms chopped and fried in oil, garlic, salt, pepper and thyme and then with butter melted in to make a creamy toast topping is just the best 👌😋👍

Mushroom meddley casually found along the edges of someone's field, about to be cooked in their own garden.
I remember that we struggled to leave the garden on this one since there were so many interesting plants to talk about in there, but I knew there was plenty of interesting things in the fields to discover.
People are often surprised with how much tasty wild food they can have spontaneously growing on their land.
Likewise for your local park or nearest green space.
